Open Minded IT has been a VMware VCSP for years, and our cloud cluster ran on VMware ESX to host all of our virtual servers.
However, after VMware was acquired by Broadcom, the future became so uncertain for us regarding the licensing model and whether we would still be allowed to remain a solution provider that we decided to migrate the entire infrastructure to a different hypervisor (virtualization layer). Proxmox seemed to us to be the most forward-looking solution and also had a good built-in migration tool. Stefan and Marco have been working hard on this over the past few months, doing their best to minimize any inconvenience to our customers. We also took this opportunity to upgrade our hardware so that we’re prepared for the future!
